Everyday Scam Report Report a scam

About

We write down what scammers are doing so you can spot it first

Everyday Scam Report is an independent project. We read public notices from fraud agencies, collect scam reports from readers, check them, and turn them into plain reports, guides and tools.

How a report becomes a warning

We collectReaders send in scams they have seen. We also read public notices from fraud agencies such as the FTC and the FBI.
A person checksSomeone reads each reader report before it is published. Links and numbers go into the checker only after that.
We publishWrite-ups name their sources, so you can check our work. Anything we cannot source, we leave out.

How we count

The numbers on our Stats page come from two places, and we keep them apart: official figures from agencies, with a link to each, and counts of reader reports a person has checked.

Reader counts show what people tell us, not every scam that happens. Read them as a sign of what is spreading, not as total losses. One report is never published as a confirmed trend.

What we are

An awareness project. We explain scams, show patterns and point you to the right place to report.

What we are not

We are not the police, a bank or a recovery service. We cannot investigate a case or get money back.
