What we collect, and what we do with it

Short and plain. We collect as little as we can.

Reading the site

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking scripts, and the pages load nothing from other companies. The site stores a few small notes in your own browser, for example that you already pressed “This happened to me too”. They never leave your device.

Message analyzer, recovery plan, safety checkup

These tools run on your device. What you paste or answer is not sent to us.

Reporting a scam

If you send a report, we keep what you typed, the date, and any links, numbers or other details you gave. A person reads it before it is published. We never show your name or email. Full payment details are stored encrypted and only our team can read them; public pages show just the last four characters.

If you attach screenshots, they are stored privately and only our team can open them. A picture is shown publicly only after we have covered personal details on a copy. Files from reports we do not publish are deleted after 30 days.

To stop abuse we keep a scrambled form of your connection address (it cannot be turned back into the address) to limit how many reports one person can send in an hour.

Alerts

If you sign up, we keep your email address, how often you want to hear from us, and when you confirmed. Every email has a link to stop. We do not track opens or clicks and we do not share your address.
